At a glance: advisories on generating strong passwords:

  1. Use unique passwords for every website.
  2. Don't re-use passwords.
  3. A passphrase is better than a single password.
  4. Don't use any personal information as a password.
  5. Use a password manager.
  6. Use two-factor authentication where you can.
  7. Don't change passwords too regularly.
